I had about 30 hands at this point, he seemed standard NL25 reg like 26/16 or something like that, nothing significant.

What I was thinking here was that there are so few combos that beat me and I expect NL25 gayregs to flat a decent amount.

I had strong intuition that getting it in on the flop would look too strong or something and he couldn't bluff anymore? Certainly this line felt the most natural to me, not really through logical analysis it just feels right

What do you guys think ?

3-bet flop and get it in IMO. A lot of bad turn cards are possible.

Yeah I would definitely re-raise sets, my mind just likes the A5 less I guess because I can be easily beat?

But there is no rational reason to take different lines with 55 and A5 I guess is there

A5 doesn't beat AJ/A5, 55
55 beats AJ/A5, he can't have 55 it and has a stronger re-draw I think so it would be much stronger hand against an NL25 reg raising this flop

also A5 has an A blocker, you should definitely play A5 and 55 differently here. I'm not sure as how to play A5 here but I think a flop 3bet is quite unnecessary

edit: I realized you bet the flop v small, which makes this kind of more interesting because he is probably going to bluff more... or raise stuff like AQ/AT

I won't defend my flop size, it was near the end of a roller coaster session I was just clicking buttons, in my mind something about him seemed spewy so getting bluffed is what I wanted so I bet what I bet, but of course value will come from AX not bluffs and I should bet big on flop.

if thats was your plan your sizing is fine also turn play is good imo, but you have many options oop, like c/c again or blockbet smallish to induce
