If things are spewy enough i 4bet call; this is when he is shipping broadways and even lower pairs. otherwise i play it like you did and I get in this spot a ton and tend to fold vs the river bet but if he won't bet a jack or worse then he can't really have nething so call.

I mean in this case he is checking down his miss so when he does bet on the end he probably is vbetting.

makes good sense, tend to face a lot of triple barrels in these situations and seem a little lost from time to time

def the part of my game im working on the most at the moment

and the huge sticker that says "bankroll management" that i constantly look at and think about ;-)

I think when you are beat you are going to get barreled way more often than bet check bet fwiw

yea calling 3bets in the sb kinda sucks especially with hands that don't really improve

4 bet pre? lol... highly dislike that idea

Stroggoz   New Zealand. Aug 17 2011 05:40. Posts 5329

yes its a 4bet pre, and call a shove if he still has the same 3bet over 500 more hand sample size. Otherwise you are folding this preflop.

actually, I like the way you played it
edit : had not seen stats when wrote this. In microstakes, this is not much more agressive in sb vs bb, so not happy to 4b get it in unless guy has already 3beted you multiple times.

sorry for shitty english.Last edit: 17/08/2011 05:46

I think folding pre is fine and will help you a lot in further spots. If he keeps messing w/ 3betting too often, increase your pf-size (4bb raise instead), and jam over some of his 3-bets (which will be a bit larger and therefor more profitable).

Edit: I mean fold to his 3-bet (not fold pre directly!!)

I mean - postflop it's just gonnna be a guessing game unless you have specific reads of his tendencies which we most likely won't have.
