Ok.... a few things here
1) Wtf @ minraise. This is THE BEST FLOP for your hand. NOT because you've got the nuts, but because he's probably got a great hand too! Raise to $3-$4... he'll call.
PS: I probably bet out here hoping to get a 3 bet.
2) TURN: You check raised him on the flop, he's learned his lesson! If he bets again, you are gonna raise him! So he doesn't bet even though he likes his hand. You HAVE to pot it here. You've sprung your trap on the flop, time to value bet now!
3) RIVER: After you bet you are pot commited, if I had played this as outlined above, and we were both deep so that I wasn't getting great odds, I could definitely fold this river. As played you can't fold to his raise. However, if I had bet this hard to the river (and we were deep) think about it... What calls a check raise on that flop and then a pot on the turn? The most likely answer is 2 pair. That two pair almost certianly contains an ace, so we just lost the pot.
As I said though, you can't fold with those odds. You call here expecting to lose. |
