You got outplayed, this isn't a bad beat. You gave him the implied odds to draw for his straight, and if you both play like this for another identical 100 hands up to the turn, he will be +ev, you -ev.
Solution: Account for both of you having deepstacks. Raise more on flop or, more likely, turn. Any 8,9, or less so Ace to queen, or spade, is a huge scare card on the river for you, so bet out before it comes, or learn to fold when it does and he shows big strength. |
