That's a low fold to C-bet in position 25% although only over 8 samples.
His call open is 14% in CO... if you could see his 3b stats somewhere. If his 3b is fairly high he can show up with a lot of junk here.
Thus, turn barrel seems fine although I'm not sure if it would be for value. Maybe for very thin value if he has a FD or if the 6 didn't hit for 89
Personally, I don't like playing A6-A9even suited EP... because they make for garbage spots like this. You don't really feel that comfortable putting in a 2nd or even 3rd barrel because you can be value towning yourself against a higher A, or you'll have 2nd or 3rd pair. CO/BTN is better for hands like these, but it's more intended as a steal attempt... and if flop comes try to pot control in position
Basically, if I were you I would eliminate these types of hands from EP even in 6max. Makes decisions easier, and you don't want to be making hard decisions with marginal hands on turn and river.... that's like burning money if you get a couple wrong in big pots |

he looks like a pasive player, 20vpip - he will have decent equity vs our hand, not much garbage.
i think i'd x/c smallish bet, x/f if he bombs the turn. ( no very likley). and x/f riv.
would be more inclined to bet turn vs like 30+ vpip plr.
def interesting hand, dunno how i'd play the turn vs good reg |

He's slow playing a set almost definitely. Why on earth else would he just call your flop bet if he is competent. |
