I would like to see the world in which he has 74 and 79 here more often than 65 and sets. |

Give him some slack, he was obviously worried about some straights. But if you think about what straighs just got there, most likely straight drawing hand on that scary flop is 78, since his straight draw would be tainted, so the other more likely scenario is that it's another hand.
Or a busted flush draw, or a weirdly played case King, or two pair, run some cards in stove or equilab, and it'll make much more sense to you, why this is an easy shove.
Keep trucking
EDIT: (not sure why I wrote strength instead of straight lol) |

To help you out, I put it in stove for you. Giving him the odd straights hands feel strange, because then you need to give him a lot off odd hands like that preflop. I didn't do that. I just put most of the hands that could call the flop bet, and those odd straight hands.
AA,QQ-55,AKs,KQs,97s+,86s+,74s+,65s,54s,43s,KQo,97o+,86o+,74o+,65o,54o,43o
AA also really unlikely, since prolly raise pre, QQ too, so are those 97o, 74o hands, and suited ones.
But if you give him this narrow a range, you're still crushing it with 73% equity vs that range.

To make it even simplier :
- he is not full stack
- only hands that beat you are 74 and 79. would he call pf with those ? not really likely. While he can have sets, 2p, or even Kx
- he has 7,5$ left. So he will call with everything but a bluff.
this is a clear shove. |
