Nah, in hindsight the way he played it was exactly how KK or another monster woulda done.

on the river, i would struggle with the decision but would most likely lay it down, but not because i'd put him on KK. i would instead believe lower set/2pair and would lay down simply because TPTK is no longer good at that point.

I dunno but that seems like a rather easy fold to me.. if not the for J, any hand he could have had on the flop now makes two pair. His river blast seems a 'bit' out of proportion to me but maybe he thought two pair would put him on a bluff or something.

No, the fold isn't the issue for me. I couldn't possibly call that on river, just wondering if I shoulda played the overall hand differently...'cause i can think of a few possibilities

was referring to tontonba who called it a brilliant fold

I think you played it real good, maybe check call into check fold the turn if you had a bad feeling like you said you did.

Checking turn is because villain could very well have KQ or JT ?

Sometimes nothing can be a real cool hand.

yeah check turn

Daut    United States. Dec 01 2005 10:33. Posts 8955

i like betting the turn. checking turn means you either check call down or check fold. id rather bet and make a decision if i get raised

I thought about that balls, but i mean you can see the problem that created...he minraised me and that gives me no information at all.

well the thing is i think you bet the turn a little too weakly.

there's 2400 out there. put 1400 out, if he raises then you can be confident hes ahead. if he calls then you are a little shaky and if he folds great, you win a decent pot. but i dont like losing the lead here

i think the minraise could also just mean he senses weakness, if he minraised a bigger bet it might mean more

but yeah, if you have a bad feeling, there's no shame in check folding. guys here give me a lot of shit cause i make some sketchy laydowns in situations where I dont feel comfortable, but go with your gut.

there's a conflict inside me in this hand because of the poster. from the hands you usually post, you seem like a very good aggressive player. i dont like you moving away from your image and playing passively when you do have a strong hand because your image helps your strong hands get paid off big time, but i LOVE the fact that although you can push people around you can also make a laydown.

it's a tradeoff, but i really like keeping the lead here
