I don't see how he can ever rep a jack with this line whilst I like to think I can. Decided to turn my hand into a bluff since he's kind of tight/passive and figured I can try to fold out 99/TT more often than catch him with overcards. Once he raises back I don't really know anymore. Figure its probably like QQ+ and he just likes to slowplay it. Or he's bluffing me back with like 99/TT but I'm not sure I can make him fold it even if I shove. |

you turn your hand into a bluff and get re-raised and you think the guy is also turning his hand into a bluff... all this in 16nl... wtf |

he either slowplayed QQ+ or bluffed you with 99/TT, pretty reasonable. |

tight/passive players are notorious for 3-bet bluffing this river with a hand such as 99/TT |

ok serious response: unless he's something absurd like 12/10, bet the river yourself for value.
once you check the river and he bets, all you need to realize is this: a near-potsize bet from a loose/passive player is polarized, so either call or fold. i would not blame you for calling. trying to figure out if/how some random 16nl player can have a jack or not at that point is a waste of brain cells, who the fuck knows how they think. his riverbet size is the most important info you have.

I think he's most likely a retard with something like AA after that 3bet Baalim. I do believe that he's capable of calling turn and bluffing this river with something like medium pocket pairs though, hence why I check-raised him. Whats wrong with that? |

checkraise makes absolutely no sense to me on river, no matter what your reasoning is. I would have been more than happy to check call. |

you forgot to value bet the river... |

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same | |
