So is this usually a good place to keep betting on the turn? I would check/fold river too assuming that a lot of my opponents bluffs just got there. Not sure how to play the turn though when your cbet gets called. |

So against 22/17 tightish reg kind of players. Do you just automatically double barrel lead on anything that doesn't have 2 overcards?
Sorry for hijacking your hand mrgoblin but its common as hell spots like this where I still get lost. And yes I know like everything else in poker "it depends", just looking for guidelines. |

It's ranges as always. On this turn there is a very large amount of value in a bet because villain can call again with a large number of worse hands (many more than better ones) which have picked up either an open ender, gutshot or pair, as well as the original flushdraw and getting sticky with worse because we might have a flush draw ourselves. In fact this is a dream turn to get value from when we think about villain's range. On other boards it could be a c/c if we think we are facing a float a lot or even a c/f if not. It's always just ranges thinking and only that, not memorised rules for situations. |

Researchers used brain scans to show that when straight men looked at pictures of women in bikinis, areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated. | |

If you want rules to go by, then this turn is such a classic value second barrel spot that checking it is, without a specific read re floating, a very very big mistake. |
