this is a terrible way of thinking about poker

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same

Is this due to the assumption that our opponents will always play correctly?

Meaning we should not assume that all villains will play 100% optimal
