With nf on an unpaired board? Gonna scare away too many marginal hands that might bet the turn

wrong, every flush will call the flop and possibly a turn bet. and if he's bad enough will call a 3rd bet on the river...and you stack Q/J hi flushes. in 95% of the situations going bet/bet/bet will be the most profitable long term. "trying to keep in hands" and not enough of a reason to check a hand as strong as this.

My reasoning was most flushes were going to lead this flop so I decided to check back. But I'm still fairly new at this game and appreciate any help
