guy is a nit, but also has 0%pct won at showdown over small sample (180 hands). i'm probably just leveling myself. i was kind of thinking since i made a huge value bet, that he might rebluff me thinking that i'm full of crap alot. |

Weird. Really looks like rivered JJ or something (or slowplayed 55, 44). But thats such a narrow range. Folding this is very disciplined, but probably corrrect. Not often do we see something turned into a bluff here. |

Hmm i don't think ppl check JJ as per on that kind of board? given that its only 55 or 44 since i don't think he opens any other hands UTG, obviously sometimes its 33 but Squads don't exist.
So i think i call pretty often here. |

JJ is usually betting flop.
does look a lot like a boat though. tbh i'd just go with my gut at the time. but if he's remotely rational there should be very few hands he can show up with on river with that he'd want to turn into a bluff. he's 16/12 so his UTG range is super nitty, if he thinks you're FOS on this board he would probably just call river with AK/AQ, and that's pretty much the bottom of his range. kind of a shame he isn't repping more combos though. |

i think i fold river because nits don't bluff
is it profitable to call 67s against such a tight UTG open there? |

Does he never show up with like KK/AA here? Understand it doesn't make much sense to not cbet it on that board but some nits get really retarded with their slowplaying. |

thanks for the advice. yea hand felt pretty strange. i ended up folding, but it was really close. just seemed like a weird spot for him to bluff. on the other hand i was thinking that he might have rebluffed me, cause he seemed a little like those really nitty players, who don't want to surrender any hand postflop. |

a 12% raising range includes all pp as well as 67s ...
this really looks like a fold but who knows he could also be a spazz. prob a call/note is best here. |

hmm, my biggest fear is that he can have A2s or AA ;-0 (or some random busted spades) - therefore I would not fold ;-0 |
|
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us and as we let our own lights shine we unconsciously give other people permision to do the same | |

I might be a little too scared/nitty in spots like this.
Try to consider that this spot comes up so infrequently against nits.
thought: the edge good players have in this spot comes from being able to wipe the hand from their mind versus dissecting how many combos a 16/12 has over 180 hands.
He's gonna have a boat a lot, and we need 25% or whatever. |
