Never ever folding here. Guy has been running like the sun all day. 55/41/33. Probably a healthy argument for shoving flop here but with his bet-bet-bet every pot he plays in style this line feels much better. Turn raise makes me sick to my stomach but the truth is he does this with weaker 10xxx's and idiotic flush draws and JJxx+ in a lot of situations today. Probably have to call. |

Going to preface this: Mild sleep deprivation apparently makes me rather chatty. This got a lot longer than I intended
He can't really have weaker Tx, other than T987-T985/T975 type hands. You basically have the nut low JTxx. You actually have one of the worst possible non-boat Ts. I don't know how relevant that is to this situation specifically, but it means that you are losing to the entirety of his >2pair value range.
With that said, I'd have to have a specific read to be happy about this. On the plus side, if you have that kind of certainty, with only 1 T left, it would really skew his range towards a pair that's spewing.
Also, your 5 and diamonds block a lot of straight draws, or if he does have OP+FD, you hold 2 diamonds and block 2 diamonds, so that would only have 7 outs vs you. So, you don't really have to protect your hand at all.
I think it boils down to this. We -know- with near certainty what he's going to do with the hands that have us crushed. Unless we've seen a habit that suggests we could have a similar level of certainty about the hands we crush, I think a check is best.
I'd be more likely to bet against a reg than I would a lot of fish, since history will make them more likely to spaz. I would be more likely to bet a hand like QJT9 w/o diamonds, since we'd want to protect vs a lot of random straights/diamonds.

Agree with this though.
I think what my long, winding posts tries to get at is that T is one of the better cards in the deck for us, but we still aren't thrilled about it. J/8 gives us 2 pair, but adds a ton of straight draws. 5 completes a bunch of straights. Thi flush isn't great. All of our outs probably give us the best hand, but with no good way to proceed with it besides with caution.
I'm going to stop talking now before I drone my night away. |

I dunno, I don't think that hand would give me the impression he's likely to be c/shing w/ overpairs. The other hand still has a coherent thought process behind it(Double sooooted, pair, semi connected = 3b, can't fold to the 4b because you can hit straight draws, flush draws or a set, flopped a flush draw, so get the money in getting 2-1). This hand also has a coherent thought process(pf and f are for value, turn he's trapping you). Both are simple and straight forward.
I can't really think of one for JJ+ that leads me to think he thinks c/ring on that turn is good. He's spewy and bad, he's not insane. |

Yeah I suppose not. Probably needed to think deeper about the spot. Bad players show up with good hands too.
I just knew he was doing this with JJxx+ with diamonds and even some other weird hands. Mostly I know this because I'd played the whole session with him and saw him do crazy stuff especially in 3-bet pots. However honestly it probably all just goes back to PF hand selection. Against a player like this it's better to just have stronger initial holdings so we can rape when we hit I suppose. |
