i'd c/f or b/f
would be nice if you or anyone competent at PLO explain why i should c-bet this flop instead of c/c.
my understanding is that player that will continue the flop would at least have pair+gutter or hand like ours and only turn you can confidently bet/call is king and 2. Rest of the turn you in similar situation as these where all options have merits making it a guessing game without huge reads.

I think after we decide to check the turn, the best play is to call. We have 31% against J9** so a turn call is only a losing play if he never ever calls when we hit the river or unless our flush draw is dominated (which is pretty rare here). I think we can credibly rep a boat on board pairing rivers too since the flop is rainbow and our hand looks a lot like a stubborn set.
Shoving on the other hand doesn't look as attractive when he pots the turn, doesn't look like we have much fold equity unless he has JJ or 99 blockers. Hands that we beat like lower wraps probably raise the flop so we can mostly rule those out.

c/f can't ever be good
i would probably check call and if i suspect he steals a lot i would ch with intentions of shoving |

andrew, you bet the flop for 2 reasons. one is that if you go into c/c mode oop you are going to get owned a lot. its not like NL where you can do that with a pair and he barely ever has a pair. he can have a wide value range and rep everything credibly by just bet bet betting with a wide range and it sucks a lot.
and secondly you need to protect your hand. its very easy for someone to have a real shitty hand but have a ton of outs against you. like if he has AQ53 all his outs are live vs you but he might fold to a cbet possibly. there arent a ton of hands like that though so protecting your hand here is a little less important, so if you were in position a check behind would be the right play, especially since you can call turns, play profitably if its a marginal runout and still extract value well if you hit gin runouts whereas oop you just feel awkward unless you gin. oop will create a nightmare |
