how is ch/call catch all his missed draws not a better play? i really dont understand... besides his KJ hand he has lots of draws. |

You get calls from all sorts of Jx by shoving. Boats and 5x are not that likely to have played it as such.
I don't really know how to crunch the numbers here, but I gar in the long run you'll extract more value by shoving in spots like these vs c/c potentially missed draws (he could just as well check back with missed draw and he should be raising flush draw on flop...then again he should be raising with KJ on this flop as well, lol). Basically he is much more likely to have Jx than flush draw. If you have a read on the guy, then it could be a different scenario, but most of the time, shove is much more more valuable than c/c. And lastly you need to realize he is just as likely to put you on a draw as you are to put him on a draw (that is if you are playing aggressively). |
