villain opens 50% buttons, folds 60% to 3bet
do you like cbetting flop? I think I am getting floated a lot on this flop ip..
1. lets say I cbet this flop, he calls, how to proceed on this specific turn card ?
2. as played ? Jx is pretty good card for his 3bet flatting range I guess..
thoughts? thanks

Well if you feel you are going to get floated, then you want to cbet to get value out of his floating range. I feel there is no real correct answer how to play this. Theres obvious things like dont c/f flop or watever. But the reason we call 3betting with scs pre 'marginal' is because theres usually never safe boards for our hand. Without any real reads. Ill answer 1 and 2
1. Given you cbet and he calls. Since he only folds to 60% of 3bets, and hes in position. He will most likely call with Ah10x AhQx As well as flushes 66 77 99 1010. So vs this range. I would bet turn. And bet Ace/king/queen/8 rivers and c/c every other river that doesnt contain a heart. Expecting his marginal range to try and showdown. And his floats that might have picked up equity on the turn to always bluff the river.
2. Well you checked twice. Hes going to fire 100% of his range. So your pretty much forced to call turn and check decide on the river. (one of the problems of handing away the initiative)
Just a suggestion. Save these 3bets for when your in position, and try to have more of a balanced value 3bet range when oop at lowstakes. |

i f you decide to take a ch call line you cant fold turn here. ch call and re-evaluate river. I think i would cbet the flop a lot tho |

nice post by handbanana.
Génerally speaking its not a big mistake to play like this in this case: check and check fold on turn, because he folds often enough to 3bets already preflop to be able to give up profitably from time to time oop on float heavy boards.Especially on full ring, this is full ring right?
I would prefer cbetting slightly to checking the flop.As played i fold on the turn bc J hits his range and bc you have no heart and too many rivers are crushing you.
What i dont like is your 3bet sizing.I would bet to 5.5,or at least 5.This may sound like not much of a difference, but if often decides if someone with a 60% fold to 3bet calls or folds to your 3bet.whenever i play down at the 50NL deep tables or 100 NL i realize that people 3bet a little bit low these days, which i would do only occasionallyl when in position. |
