I flat AK a lot vs people who 3bet normaly but have a high fold to 4bet. Reason is that i get to play in position and keep hands like AQ/KQ/KJ/Kxs in the pot. AK isn't to great of a hand when somebody 5bets (shoves) with a narrow range. It will also make our 3bet flatting range harder to play against imo.

bah, just noticed it was a cold 4bet, but well same principle kind of applies (his 4bet range is pretty tight, but AK to good to fold in position, since i think he will be kind of polarized to KK+ (maybe AK), or maybe QQ+/AK, and some bluffs. 50nl plays a little tighter preflop then 100nl. i like to see a flop and decide. doesn't means i'm going to auto give up on any non A or K flop.

Hes utg who opened, not a cold 4b.
I'm not following the bit about "people who 3bet normaly but have a high fold to 4bet" part. Unless you made some mistake typing there, we're the ones facing a 4b, not villain. Maybe you're suggesting he's 4b/folding to 5b jam w/hands like AQ/AJ/broadways etc.?

Im only good at poker when I run good

gawdawaful, i made post # 5 thinking that villain 3bet me from the blinds and i cold called the 3bet.
then i noticed that there was a 4bet. i thought that i 3bet somebody else in late position and he cold 4bet me from the blinds. i was wrong again. you are right he opened utg and i 3bet him, then he 4bet my 3bet.
still my thought process was what i posted in reply # 6, regardless if it was a cold 4bet or utg 4bet, since they pretty much represent the same hand strength. sorry to much grinding and replying between hands.

AK isn't a great hand postflop, imo you 3bet so much that they start 4betting you lighter...good to make their life a hell by jamming lol

and they will call with AQ, 99 etc

and you can start making countdown to busto jokes
