I'm not really sure about this to be honest, I don't normally lead the turn here as you can be raised by stronger hands as a bluff as well as forvalue and when you're called you still have no real idea where he is at..
I guess you're right though, this is a fine way to play 99 I guess, not that you can do too much wrong with 99 in this spot ^_^
