there's nothing particularly wrong with the way you played it.
but if you've seen him do these weird small turn/river (and flop to lesser extent) bets before i would just raise flop. his sizing cuts down on your implied odds so you're probably better off pushing your immediate equity+any FE.

If u can manage someway to stackoff on the flop u should do it, ur equity is so good and u generate some fold equity also

I never thought about how it changes my implied odds... I like a raise on flop better too. Even if he binked 2 pair AQ or A8 on flop, its still a flip if we get it in.
