Breaking up with my gf had among others one negative impact: As we shared rent my fixed costs of living pretty much doubled overnight.

I spent fulltime job hunting and got derailed in December when I had to go back home, and was forced to withdraw everything to pay my rent. Now I asked my dad for a loan, and have jobseekers allowance for temp job but for some reason employers don't want to train you when you will work for only three weeks for them. So I have 20 days until my job starts, and 50days until I get my first salary, dead job market for temp jobs (you need to sit in exams and pay several hundred $ to be able to work manually here as you need some CSC card), and maxed overdraft with barely enough money for food.

Well, I'm pretty used to being broke and I know I will pwn at the job, and if I learned anything from poker it's dealing with failure - I only have to negotiate an extension on next month's rent, and will still try to get some temp job quick (I have to keep applying and calling employers to keep my jobseekers allowance - £50/week).

But in the meantime what is the only income available to me? Yep, poker time! All I could spare was £50 - a solid NL2 roll.

Solid 2.5 days of grind later, between sending CVs calling people and studying books, online articles and audios on sales: NL5 here we come. I am where I started - putting in volume and building from the ground up.
I am literally playing for cheeseburgers now, or else I die of hunger

if poker is dangerous to them i would rank sports betting as a Kodiak grizzly bear who smells blood after you just threw a javelin into his cub - RaiNKhAN

I feel guilty and a little bad each time I read stuff like this, seem so brutal and hard in most countries.

I've not got a job, and I'm a bit lazy, don't really do much, but I still get payed 1978 dollar (after tax is withdrawn) a month since that's what you get when you're a "bum" in Norway.

Stupid concience, I should go do something productive. (Meh, I'll probably go watch some SC2 streams, fap to some porn, check facebook then go to bed).

I knew Norway was a rich country but geez that's a lot for fuck all. Do you have to do anything to receive the allowance?

Wow seriously? :O
That seems pretty counterproductive, kinda kills the hunger in you no?

I know when I start the sales job that is VERY scale-able I will outperform everyone else that is starting out because I am piss broke and can't afford not to make proper dough. Even at the interview I was so much more prepared than everyone else because the alternative for me was to sell door to door in the cold for shit money or lose my flat and have to return to Czech Republic as a failure. You kind of lose the motivation when you know you have 2k/mo secure cushion no?

2$ buyin? and you live in the UK? sounds like a pretty horrible waste of time. Put the same amount of effort into something irl and you will have like 1000% the return.

I have to log into a website, every 14 day, and klick 7-8 klicks on some "yes" "no" questions, then scroll down and klick "confirm". That's bout it.

what does it mean " to be a bum" ?

Mariuslol   Norway. Feb 10 2012 12:04. Posts 4742

Guess it kills some hunger, it doesn't feel great or anything, since it's frowned upon or looked down on by the rest of society. And if I try to say "when I hardcore poker a month I often go travel the world". It gets even worse, and if they ask what I do when I don't play poker, and I try to brag about "having been" really good in games, or something along those lines it seem to go worse.

Yeah, you're suppose to get up and do the morning to noon, and they all say it's to contribute to society, but it feels as if people who say that don't really believe that themselves, at least everyone who brag or take that up as one of the first conversation topics are full of themself. xD I think.

I'm not sure, so many choices on the net, so much you can choose to read, so many games to play, so many options, I feel it makes it impossible to choose, since if you "choose wrong", and the feeling you get after the initial obsession is over, and you're full of doubt. "Should I keep doing this, doesn't feel right, feel's off" and you just keep wandering from thing to thing.

Ahh I rant, sry for blogsteal yo xD

Study the skills, tips, traits, ins and outs of the profession you're about to venture in to.

Find out the names of the "top guys" in the organization, find out what ways there are to climb up the ranks, find names of people who have done it, find out the fastest way of doing it, prepare, memorize things that might be handy. Keep going like that if you want to learn or put effort into career/making money.

Maybe!!

Ye that's what I am doing, I watched every sales movie read 2 books so far listened to tapes and spent tens of hours going through the info about the company online, employee stories etc. Let the obsessive progression start again it feels good :D

But there is still a ton of time in the day left, and I need money and I need it right now so I can eat

Foraging, two flies in one go, learning some crazy outdoor survival shit, + food.

Take a camera with you, take some pictures, even if you just kill a squirrel, then use google, search on how to skin and prepare it. I think I'd be really memorable and fun xD

+ you'll get some cool stories you can share.

Isn't it kinda lame to do those things alone? I did that kind of thing with my gf

You went hunting for food/survival with your gf? I thought you just went and did stupid normal, soppy stuff when you had gf's.

My mate JAcob had to survive for 4 weeks as part of his traning, get shipped in a helicopter far into the woods with what they were wearing + some knives n shit, then tested, some thingy to ping when you want to quit.
