What breed? |
Mother was a pitbull, the lady we got her from had no clue what the father was since she got out one day and just came back pregnant. |

We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men.

Really sorry for your loss. I'd be so angry as well. Animals should rule the world and never die, we humans suck. |

the puppie looks exactly like my mom's pit bull / mix and behaves exactly like you described (he's a couple years old now too). seems like its a good mix, you might wanna look for another that looks like that. |

I'm so sorry to hear this. Dogs are amazing creatures. I'm a huge dog lover myself, and we had to put our dog down as well...

Don't at all mean to derail your thread, but it's always good to share stories of loved ones, i figure.
He was a long-haired german shepard named Schultz. He was so loyal and protective. One night, while I was in high school, I tried sneaking back into my house through the backyard. He was an outdoor dog, lived the good life in a bed he had on our back porch. He heard the noise and tried to protect his masters from the intruder. I heard his scowling growl, and slowly said "Schultz, it's me," with a small hint of fear knowing what he was capable of, although more confident that he would eventually figure it out. I put my hand out for him to sniff, and he ever so slowly moved toward my hand to see who it was. As my scent gave him confirmation, the growl turned to what is a dog's laughter, and he played for a bit. I told him how much of a good boy he was for protecting the house before I went in. He knew that he had done his job.
I still miss him so much.
He was abused by his first master, somehow got away and found my uncle on his farm. My uncle, being the care-giver that he was took him in, even though it most likely meant being put in a financial burden even more. He cared for him for two years or so before he passed away. With no master, we took him in with open arms. He lived with us for about another 5 years or so before we put him down.
I'll never forget the visit to the vet to put him down. I drove my mother (who probably had a closer connection since it was her brothers dog) to the vet, and she spent the better part of an hour and a half in with Schultz's final moments. I tried to wait in the waiting room, but couldn't handle it. I went to the car, turned it on and the song "God blessed the broken road", by Rascal Flatts, started playing immediately, which was the song deemed to be Schultz in the days after making the decision to put him to rest.
It fit the situation perfectly. He had a rough life, and even when he found a caring home, it was taken away abruptly (My uncle died at the age of 33, we think from sleep apnea)
Lately I've just been missing him, so it helps me by telling stories.... Thanks for reading everyone. |

I have learned from poker that being at the table is not a grind, the grind is living and poker is how I pass the time
