http://www.pokerstarsblog.com/all_sta...ils-monster-all-star-show-123422.html
| We're still working to confirm all eight names on the list. Here are the six who have put in their RSVPs so far.
Alexander Roumeliotis (Sussie Smith)
Alexander Millar (Kanu7)
Benjamin Sulsky (Sauce123)
Tobias Kuder (KTPOKP)
Phil Galfond (mrSweets28)
Isaac Haxton (Ike Haxton) |
As a HU player this pleases me immensely. Need Jungleman though, I think Sauce will do well and I'd be surprised if Galfond does well. Can't wait, and I hope I can view this from the US -_-
| The All-Star showdown will function much like the SuperStar Showdowns of old. Players will face off heads-up on four simultaneous tables. In the old days, the matches lasted for 2,500 hands. Now, the matches will continue until one of the players goes broke. The players will begin their matches with 1,000 big blinds. If the match isn't finished by the 3,000th hand, the blinds will double. |
Schedule:
http://www.pokerstarsblog.com/2012/al...showdown-the-stage-is-set-123463.html
Re-update:
Quarter-finals
27 October: Tobias 'KTPOKP' Kuder vs Benjamin 'Sauce123' Sulsky
28 October: Alex 'Kanu7' Millar vs Isaac 'IkeHaxton' Haxton
30 October: Alexander 'Sussie Smith' Roumeliotis vs Dan 'w00ki3z.' Cates
31 October: Phil 'mrsweets28' Galfond vs Ben 'ben86' Tollerene
Semi-finals
2 November: Semi-final 1 - Sauce123 vs Ike
3 November: Semi-final 2 - Jungleman vs Galfond
Final
4 November: The All Star Showdown final - Sauce123 vs Jungleman
Jungleman wins $550k, Sauce wins $250k! |

Ben86 should've really won that. Galfond was seemingly clicking random buttons and butchered ton of hands. He wasn't kidding when he said he needed NL teachings. On the other hand, Ike vs Sauce should be absolutely sick. That match is the real final in this event. |

not sure why are people saying that sauce is a huge favorite in the finals
they are giving some ridiculously good odds on jungleman to win
I mean sauce is a beast... but so is jungleman |

what odds are people giving, link?
seems ridiculous to give anyone of these players more than a 51% chance to win when they're playing with 10BI. |

wait, people actually think ev means anything over 3k samples? lolz. I mean judging from that graph it's obvious that JM ran at least 20bb/100 better than his true winrate vs sauce. Seems unlikely either of those players would have more than a 6bb/100 edge on each other. Again, someone please link me to what odds these people are given for this match |

Seems that we can't post graphs to link it to a HH and comment so I solved the issue my editing my post with Sauce graph. |

This is the equivalent of sauce losing an 80-20, but dosnt show up anywhere on EV programs |
Not at all, Jungleman isnt always firing blank rivers and he is also overbetting this isnt like losing an 80/20 but its true that EV is just a tiny bit of variance, its easier to notice who played better by hands alone, it seems that Jungleman exploited Sauce more than the otherway around. |

thx for posting...
i wonder why they both seem to make slight river overbets when 3 barreling in single raised pots even when they don't have very many bluffs in their range.
also im curious what the reason is for the deviations in c-bet and turn barrel sizes in 3bet pots. all my sizings are uniform and only change based on stack size. must be something im missing. |

maybe they randomize sizing separate from other factors (aside from preserving/maximizing EV across sizings) in order to make their enemy feel that they are more unpredictable than if they just used uniform bet sizes
whether that's there reason or not, it sounds like a good idea vs tough opponents to me. |

oh yes I see what you said now ^^
Sauce said a long time ago he usually gets pwned the first 5k hands of his tough HU matches if they never played before. Then he takes all the hands offline and figures out what best to do for future HU matches, resulting in robusto.
I guess he would need a rematch but honestly I think jungleman will always win longterm |
