i think its awesome till it affects me

kind of a cool concept, but like u mentioned some of the stuff they do is wrong.

seems as though a potential natural progression in vigilantism is to take it to far, to feel entitled, to go a bit crazy.

the concept is scary though, where does the invasion of privacy stop? i mean magnify anonymous, ultimate accountability is a scary thing imo

Edit : Alright, now I got that this "Anonymous" guy is not part of the raping guys, but some organization that wants to catch those guys

They gave evidence of gang-rape to the police. Sounds reasonable and not lynch-mob-vigilante to me. Yeah prob should have e-mailed it instead of hosting it publicly but that doesn't bother me at all.

Yes Anonymous taking action into their own hands (DDOS and whatnot) is stupid but this story is the aspect I can get behind.

I believe it. In small towns, things like that may not get as enforced as much.

A poker player from Steubenville who lives in my city actually showed me this and confirmed everything they said about the football players basically having immunity, so I think it's a good thing they were outed by anonymous...

Says that the prosecutor is the mother to one of the guy in the "Rape Gang" and the act took place in her house or her sons house or whatever but im not sure i just read it quickly might be wrong

anonymous seem aiiight. the bad stuff they do is not nearly as bad and as corrupt as the stuff a lot of democratically elected governments do.

Who gives a shit who does justice anyway, as long as it's fair, and considerate to human morality.

If this story is true, i think it's a good thing that someone, anyone did something about this incident, because i would hate to be raped and pissed on and have a whole town ignore me.

i might be too compassionate and forgiving, but the effects of group think, and following through can't be undermined especially since they are kids. feel god awful for the girl though sigh.

do you think it would be fair for the victim to choose the punishment?

also can this evidence even be used? i thought if it was obtained in an unlawful way, it would have to be discarded?

I believe I read somewhere that the accused's mother recused herself from the case, as well as one other person who's relationship to the accused I'm not fully sure on but I'd imagine he volunteers/works for the school in some capacity.
