regarding your view on apples as bad:

this chart is Dave Asprey's. I take everything he says with a grain of salt, but i think if you avoid most of the high sugar fruits on the far right you are fine. i love bananas, but try to eat mostly stuff towards the left side of this picture |
The problem with this graph is that it isn't based on relevant research. Feeding rats or humans isolated fructose or HFCS is not the same thing as consuming raisins or fruit, etc. For example, raisins contain vitamins/minerals/fiber/polyphenols. Together, this changes the equation.
I think most dietitians would agree that bananas and raisins are healthy, and I think most studies show positive effects of fruit/dried fruits on health. Mushrooms also have evidence of positive health effects.
Canned fruit might be an issue because most of the cans lining contain BPA, which is scary stuff. |

Here is a link to where that graph/color thingy is taken from: http://www.bulletproofexec.com/the-co...llustrated-one-page-bulletproof-diet/
Too tired to go through it now, just woke again lol. Think there's link to a lot of research to back up some of the claims. But like Daut said earlier, it's a little outdated, and a few things are being switched around.
I'm bbl. Just read Highcards post, and got too little time to reply atm. |

hehe I remember reading about low-carb food and low glycemic food like 6 years ago... Even thou I was a clueless idiot about the subject I used to get into arguments with low-calorie + exercise/willpower people. And they would respond to me '' OMG IDIOT, YOU ARE FAT BECAUSE YOU ARE A LAZY FUCK THAT JUST LIES DOWN ON BED EATING POTATOE CHIPS AND BACON ALL DAY, GO OUT AND JOG FOR 5 MINUTES AND MAYBE U WILL LOSE A FEW POUNDS'' if i mentioned any of this

Eating healthy has always been and still is my biggest problem as an athlete, I just haven't been able to find healthy food that taste good enough to compete with steak and potatoes or pastas. All that no corn/gluten free alternatives to regular food tastes like horse shit so I often find myself throwing in an few extra hours at the gym just to make up the difference in diets. Don't get me wrong I love me some fruits and veggies but as snacks or side dishes and generally not prepared the "healthy" plain way. |

Why would you buy "food" with no calories? Such a waste of time and money. |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glucomannan
it's considered dietary fiber, which as I stated does everything that the wiki says. As those effects aren't related to glucomannan, but actually to fiber. So, since the composition is water/glocumannan, that would be a good dietary staple. |

Also, I wanted to add that when I originally said water during meals would hit your water needs, I meant total body water needs, however, that doesn't exactly to snacks, like eating nuts or having a banana. You need to have some water with every single food you eat, even fruit generally do not provide enough water and can have a negative effect towards constipation.
