SPORTSBETTING HUAH

I have $66 or so on the 49ers over the Falcons, and over $200 tied up into UFC on FX later today, as well as $22 on some boxing match later today that I have no idea about and just bet on the favorite even though his opponent is an extremely good veteran.

I just got into betting this past December 31st, so I can't give any tips.

I know that a lot of the consistent betters at Sherdog have accounts at various sites, because some sites have lines way before others, and some lines are just way better than other sites.

Everyone pretty much has a 5dimes account, then 1-2 other accounts at other bookmakers if you bet a lot.

yea i bet 49ers -4 but tbh that might've been a fishbet, idk. just bet that one b/c i'm a fan :S bet ravens to cover +9 vs patriots, line has moved to +7.5 since so feeling decent about that.

i ran good last week betting on Ravens to cover, Patriots to cover, and bet on O43.5pts total for Pats-Texans in first quarter when game got off to slowish start. also bet smaller on some basketball games i forget, one was Stony Brook vs Vermont O115pts which they covered easily. i tilt-bet $200 on Ravens covering after losing $100 bet on Bama to beat ND by 13-18 pts (+400) lolz.

so far looking bad for this weekend though, i bet (college bball) Cleveland St. to cover +9 vs Green Bay (down by 21 now), Arizona vs ASU O136 pts (currently 31-28 1 min. into 2H).

also have Citadel +12.5 to cover vs Georgia Southern, Creighton vs Wichita St. pts total U140.5 later today. Have Castro +165 v Vieira, Sarafian -175 v Dollaway, Bisping -115 v Belfort..plus the football bets mentioned above. run good plz =S

but yeah i should at least put some on 5d for sure. i've heard of people putting money on 20-30 different sites, obviously i'm not going to do that with 2k but just trying to figure out what the best balance is for now.

Most of the friends I have who bet sports seriously have their bankrolls spread out on most of the "A" rated books (i.e., 5 Dimes, Heritage Sports, BetDSI, etc.). And, yeah, they line shop like crazy, too.

do you know roughly how big their BR's are for sportsbetting? when they determine size of their betting units do they consider their BR as the amount on each individual site they're betting on or the total amount on all sites? do they spend a lot of time trying to analyze data / building models or do they just grab lines that are off from Pinny's? thanks for anything you can answer ;o

I'm thinking about betting on Jon Jones vs Chael Sonnen. Jones probably wins 97%~ of the time IMO.

For North Americans, add Sportsinteraction and Bodog/Bovada to the list - but if you bet their underdog lines too much you'll either be dealt dual lines (Bodog) or be booted completely (SIA).

Two of the guys I know have decent bankrolls (over $50k) on those sites. One of them has a unit system but the other guy pretty much always bets 1/2% of what he has on the site per play. Not sure what system they're using as far as lines are concerned but I definitely want to find out before the Super Bowl.

yeah kaepernick is a beast, i would've been happy taking them at evens or even -3, i just think -4 was kind of a meh line. too bad i couldn't get one of the -3.5 lines T_T oh well at least got my money back.

just need ravens to lose by less than 9 or win tonight, that's the game i have most money on anyway. lost bet on Crabtree (+5.5) more receiving yards than Roddy White but made back and then some with a few basketball (college and pro) bets.

After cashing in the 49ers game, I put $6.66 on the Ravens to win straight up.

Haven't paid attention to the game much, but it seemed close in the first half.

The first bet I wanted to resize, so then I cancel the bet.
I go back and enter the bet, it doesn't go through cuz the line grew bigger, so I have to re-enter my password.
I enter my password and it's the wrong one, so I re-enter it again, and the line is closed.

Damn.

yea that's happened to me a couple times during live games. meh should've kept it all on baltimore +9, oh well hedge on NE was 1/3 size. if Pistons (+2) can hold on vs Celtics going to be good night =o

$20 profit on the Ravens.

I put $40 on the 49ers to win straight up at -200.
Right when I made this bet, they were offering -5 point spread for the 49ers, then after I placed the bet it dropped to -4.5 point spread.

Any idea if it will get down to -3 or -4? I have no idea about that stuff, I usually just bet straight up and parlays.

49ers are -4 1/2 vs. the Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII. I'm guessing most people will back the favorite?
