coincedence I'm reading his book ''treat your poker like a business''. Maybe if you would've read his book, you'd understand more about his gameplan. It makes nothing but sense to sit next to bad players and table select good. As far as his book about Phil Hellmuth, I think it's just to draw more attention to his book (perceived from a business aspect). It worked, since negative attention is still beter than none. I don't think he is as bad as a guy as you describe him.

lol the guy has been successful in two distinct fields, he executes an approach to playing poker that focuses on maximising the amount of money he can win for his effort, who gives a fuck about challenging this guy to a battle of skills? I read his book years ago and it was great because it reminded me how life skill-deficient most twentysomething poker players are; the guy will keep making money at poker while many better players will (for one reason or another) have nothing to show for it.

theres nothing wrong with being a bumhunter. nobody gives a shit that leatherass is a bumhunter. what everyone hates is the fact that he would go around demeaning people who made less money than him in poker and acting like he was gods gift to poker.

i remember him insulting irockhoes cause leatherass had made 3 mill from poker and irock hadnt. irock came in and posted screenshots of him playing thousands of hands with leatherass overall but only playing a few hands of heads up. every regular clearly thought irock was the better player but leatherass had a higher winrate and played more hands so he had more money in the bank.

marshall randomly flinging shit and neilly going bust, such frequent certainties in LP life that they are comforting.

Researchers used brain scans to show that when straight men looked at pictures of women in bikinis, areas of the brain that normally light up in anticipation of using tools, like spanners and screwdrivers, were activated.

I really like your personality btw, but I think you should just accept that there are people out there that only want the maximum amount of money for their time spend. Ofcourse always worth the try to call them out

i think Marshall is good for poker.

these challenges are what its all about.

if everyone minded their own business then there would be no poker game. ego and personality are going to come into it. someone has to be better than the other and you must battle to find out.

i hope this goes down and i hope marshall wins a ton from leatherass.

i try to make it interesting.

maybe i should write a book w/ all the hands he and i have played and talk about how he played them.

theres probably no chance he accepts this, im not even sure he'd accept if i offered my 20k to his 10k.

marshall crushed last match vs. zach. I think issuing challenges and coming off as a headcase is plus ev as well, since it doesnt seem to affect his game.

if i were trying to get action out of a perceived weaker player by trying to challenge his ego, not sure i'd go after the guy who's made a career out of having staggeringly disciplined game selection. but whatever i guess.

dude u aren't reading. this whole 'demeaning other players' business is what he did to me. that's the other reason this went down.

This is probably the first time I agree with what Marshall does so it means something.

Leatherass is

1. A bumhunter who prides himself in not actually trying to do his part in keeping games going and such.
2. Annoying.
3. Wants attention as a "good player" to get money from books, teaching or whatever.

Any somewhat healthy group of people needs to try and get rid of the guy and make sure to make fun of him and generally make him feel uncomfortable. The poker world would be better without him so whatever is bad for Leatherass is a good thing for poker. If I had a somewhat legal way of making him go broke and never be able to play again I'd snap take it.

Most winning regs does their part to start game, not snap-sit-out, make sure to keep the games fun etc. Leatherass does not. That's why everyone needs to take every opportunity to mess with him.
