I mean the points are there but society is never going to change like that, as men will always sexualize women as they are an object of his desire. Additionally, when you are catering to an audience of primarily young males you have a better chance of business success setting up games like this.
Obviously if a game is good it's good, regardless how a woman may be portrayed.
She makes a lot of good points. So far the comments ITT have been woefully pathetic.
This video has been debated all over the internet/gaming sites/reddit etc for the last week so it feels old by now.

Anyway, you should look into the other side of her argument, ie: tropes vs males. Something she will not touch. Why? Because that would destroy her entire argument.

What's to stop her from using the stock photo of those shoes and just saying she is going to buy them? Maybe even not those shoes specifically, she could be just using the photo and talking about some other shoes.
I don't twitter, so I don't know it's format by heart.
She is getting a lot of media attention, and the more attention, the more views she will get on youtube. Could be a ruse upon a ruse.

Wow the responses in this thread are fucking sad. Cant believe so many young and intelligent men are this narrow minded and misogynist. Not sure if everyone is colectively trolling me or are you really already on page 1 debating wether the author of the video bought expensive shoes or not?
What I don't understand, I honestly don't, is why is everyone so pissed off about someone talking about stereotypes in games?
I mean I would understand it if people are angry at someone advocating policies they don't like, but the videos are merely pointing out that - gasp - women are displayed in stereotypical ways in games.
I myself dont really care what stereotypes games feature, and for this reason I dont really bother thinking about it nor watching the videos of Sarkesian. I once watched half of her video and didnt really find it interesting at all.
But it would seem an absurd idea that I should get mad because she says in her videos that there are stereotypical ways of presenting women in games. Can someone please explain to me whats there to be angry about??!!! I ask this really honestly and out of pure curiosity, because I really cannot bend my mind around it.
Of course credit where credit is due: you guys are way better than much of the internet in this respect, I mean no-one has started with rape fantasies nor speculated about the possibility of killing her.
