Aside from the teasing I'm sure you will get back on track with time and discipline, seems like you have both.

so either...

i pretend to be humble in person because i'm a liar and my internet persona is more important to me than the relationships i cultivate in my life. apparently also i attention whore on the internet because i am incredibly vain and superficial.

OR

i actually am humble in person because im trying to cultivate relationships with positive people who add value to my life and the world. and i attention whore on the internet because thats whats necessary to get people to read my shit and find somebody they can connect with.

you think you know me so well. i don't agree.

bolded part is lol.

Marshalls blog:

At this point in my life I'm 28, and a lot of non-poker players my age are catching up to me as far as acquired wealth. I have such a different outlook now than when I bought that car at 22 years old since all I cared about then was trying to be a baller and spend every dollar I made

there is nothing wrong with a porsche. If you want a car with above avg quality and reliability and don't care about the money. haters going to hate

Anyways, if anyone tries hard enough they can change their perspectives/morals/values

if you're trying to get your name out you should just find more HU grudge matches or post videos with real strat content, it's the only thing that makes spamming your retarded facebook or future-site tolerable.

Why is being a humble considered a virtue?

The more you improve or have success the harder it is not to share with people. The more you see the distinction between yourself and the next person trying -it's even harder.

Why then, can you not be proud and loud about your achievements? As long as you're not misrepresenting yourself, how is this bad?

The core reason why I'm usually humble is because if I get too full of myself then I think it stifles my progression because then I find it harder to take advice or learn from others.

But on paper, i don't see why its immoral to not be humble or why its a virtue to be

The way I see it it's because people are generally very close to each other in terms of potential about any topic, and the only reasons most people are better than others are only because they either put in the hours of work or somehow have figured out a better learning process or just plain luck, and that's it. Not much to be proud of other than your own hard work unless you are like Einstein or Bethoven I guess.

So for me being humble is just the normal thing to be and being proudful and shit about almost anything I see it as a delusion.

Because what people see as success is usually something not benefiting anyone other than the individual himself. To then further show off shows a vain and childish individual.

No one cares if anyone is humble! especifally over the internet, YET Marshall finds it SUPER IMPORTANT to remind everyone, at every occasion, that he's the most humblest person he knows! Obviously he will get called out, wtf, no one is arguing what purpose of humbleness is, no one has even suggested that its an important virtue. Come on, Marshall is half trolling, half spamming these boards so he can build himself an image and potential client list.
And good for him! if he wasn't such a "snake" about it, by saying shit like "I do this for the people!" , "im super humble", no one would say shit.

yeah i sort of agree with this.

There's no reason to have a big ego in this world. Life is a massive diceroll and i don't get why you should think your awesome just because you managed to roll a 6 10 times in a row.

personally i just think that belief in yourself is the most important thing. without that i would be no where. thats the one thing i generally see missing in all the haters and people with miserable lives. they dont believe they can actually do it (whatever 'it' may be).

its hard to believe in yourself and not have an ego.

the poker economy runs on people who believe in themselves.
