Backing up against the cage vs Diaz isnt dangerous at all, its just the limit exhausted people can back up to, Nick doesn do anything special there but batter people who cant lift their arms anymore like BJ Penn.

LOL. That is actually the worst thing you can do against Diaz. He absolutely batters anyone that has back up to the cage in his fights. Watch his fight with Daley or the fight with Condit or any of his recent fights. His opponents can't use there footwork and kicks there and that is Diaz's biggest weaknesses.
But like I said I think Silva is going to be too much for Diaz. He is too big and has too much power. He has better movement, more speed and more weapons. This fights should be easy for him.
|
That applies against anyone, having your back against the cage is bad because you have little mobility, power etc, but Diaz does nothing special there, its just where already exhausted and battered opponents are forced to go when Diaz keeps pressing forward. |

There are many fighters who dont need to use anger or viciousness in their fights, its just one path to get motivated and I dont think its the best way to do it.
The whole Uria Hall thing was just overblown media crap because of some standard Dana White bullshit statements |

Agree that a fighter doesn't need anger nor that it's the best way. It doesn't mean that shifting mindsets to pure aggression isn't beneficial to some.
Dana says a lot of bullshit obviously. Don't think the Uriah Hall one was a good example. Dana said that stuff after Uriah's 'fight' with John Howard. Probably because Uriah was too busy high fiving his opponent after every parried strike instead of blowing him out like his talents should allow him to. And this was after he was clearly genuinely happy that at least it was his good friend Kevin Gastelum that beat him for the ultimate fighter finale.
Any promoter in the history of combat sports would've been upset with that high fiving, fist bumping joke of a fight. And it looks like it worked because he's definitely looked and sounded different since then.

Yes ofcourse it applies against anyone, but what do you mean by doing something special in this position. Who for you is example of somebody that does something special there?
In every single fight this is the spot where Diaz is making the most damage, so I think his game there is one of the best in mma. He is pinning his opponents with his forehead and just unloading with body shots and different combinations to the head often doubling on hooks which might cause Anderson some trouble. He is not the typical head hunting predictable fighter that Anderson has been KO'ing through his career.
That being said It will not suprise me if this fight is similar to Stipe Miocic and Fabio Maldonaldo. Maldonaldo was supposed to be tough and durable fighter, but got absolutely pummeled in seconds based on simply size difference. I hope Diaz can take Anderson's shots because then it will be a great fight.
As for prediction: I think Silva destroys Nick in 1 round - knees to the body. |

if silva is even close to how he was pre injury, he destroys diaz. not sure how anyone can think anything otherwise? the diaz brothers are not elite fighters and nick is facing someone much bigger. this is a squash match. unless of course anderson is a shell of his former self, which is very possible. heard a rumor anderson was KTFO in training a few weeks ago |

Think we have the reasons to hold such doubts, he broke his leg, he s old, he said he didn't even want to fight anymore he just wants to finish his contract. :/ He s still the GOAT imo, his style is just the most entertaining thing you can ever see in MMA, age is a huge factor in this sport sadly and people will remember him as the guy that got demolished twice at the end of his career |

AS got knocked out with a kick in the face by the sparring Khalil Rountree, as he said in an interview for brazilian media.

nick diaz hasnt won a fight in 3.5 years. and that fight was vs a guy who finished his career at 145 pounds. we have some reason to believe anderson isnt his same old self, but why do we think that nick diaz of all people can beat him?
i also think its pretty clear jones > anderson all time. |

Rory McDonald also destroyed Tyron Woodly against the cage and in better fashion than Diaz does because Diaz just throws but is still very easy to hit back but Rory wasnt.
Also Jon Jones is another fighter who is obviously better than Diaz when he has his opponent against the cage among others. |
