As far as I understand, they will try to prosecute him on the grounds that he incited Manning to go steal those records... which is what any good reporter does with their informers. Overrated in value or not he hasn't really done anything bad and literally every media outlet is trying to portray him as a bad dude. Even John Oliver who is mostly moderate in his expressions tried to passively portray him as such... at least he didn't try to push the "he s a Russian marionette agenda"(even if he is, it does not fucking matter). It's sad cause Assange will indeed probably rot in some random jail and people will forget about him

The US government is indicting him for HELPING manning steal those records, big difference. (I do not know if it is true or not).
Publishing stuff is not a felony in the US and I'm glad they are not trying to persecute him on that. It was the UK that arrested him for a pending bail (seems bs to me?)
President Trump was a big fan of wikileaks when it helped him, so saying "I don't know much about it" indicates to me he simply doesn't wanna mess with the investigation and take political heat (hurr durr Trump is a russian agent working with manning to help russia we need a new special counsel)

Trumps changing stance before and after the election actually indicates Trump is two face and doesn't give a dam about assange, lol.

Not necessarily. We do not know what he knows and what is behind the charges being presented.
As a President, his best way to support Assange MIGHT be staying out of it. Can you imagine the outrage if the DOJ was persecuting him and he was voicing his support? Would that really help Assange? We simply do not know.

Thats ridiculous, if Trump wanted he could easily squash this, in fact the reason why Ecuador kicked Assange out was because the US has been pressuring them about it, and even if you somehow think it all outside of Trump's hand of course his support would mean the world for Julian he would have half the country on his side.

*Actual* Mueller report out. Its Disappointing that there isn't a "PLACE HIM IN CHAINS!!!" type smoking gun, but its pretty obvious Barr is/was just completely full of shit when he says "no collusion". Basically 200 pages worth of shady Russian contacts and illegal activity. Understandable why Trump says "This is the end of my presidency. I'm fucked." when the investigation gets underway. Second half of the report shows blatantly obvious obstruction attempts.
Not a good look for Wikileaks. A lot of that section is redacted but it looks like Wikileaks/Assange actively wanted Trump over Hillary and tried to disguise that's its documents were the result of Russian hacking by implying that it was murdered DNC employee Seth Rich.
Not sure why there's some need to show consistency toward eccentric public faces like Assange. Uncovering war crimes is extremely valuable for society but you can do that and also later stooge for Trump for whatever reason and be a crazy rapist smearing shit on the walls.

Wikileaks didn't try to disguise anything, they outright publicly claimed the emails weren't obtained from Russia, so is there any evidence in the report that it was indeed Russia or are you talking shit again?
What if Assange prefered one candidate over another? so does Fox, CNN, NBC etc, wheres the crime in that?

I don't understand whats ridiculous about saying Trump is the US president, not a dictator, and that the DOJ indictes people independently. Under that context, him risking his 2020 election to provide moral support for Assange might not be on anyone's best intentions. Maybe he is helping backdoors, staying neutral, or pursuing him, who knows.

You could... but then again the timing and the political agenda behind it seems way too good for his enemies? Also apparently the "rape" investigation comes from women that apparently wanted him to use a condom and he didn't. He says they didn't ask for such thing, they say the reverse thing. I thought rape has to be violent, not just have sex without a condom and try to sue someone post-factum???? So yeah, that's retarded.
I could see how he would push agenda for Trump over Hilary and it makes a lot of sense. Chances of Hilary causing more deaths and suffering are obviously higher, if I were him I'd feel a moral obligation to diminish Hilary's chances as well. Either way I don't believe he had info on Trump which he didn't release, he just happened to have info that hurts Hilary.
Trump is just a dumb old man that can/has caused a lot of chaos and overall made bad decisions cause of ignorance and stupidity.
Hilary would've deliberately hurt people with her neoliberal international politics.

I'm not "talking shit", I'm just mentioning the findings of the report. You're free to just not believe it, which is of course is what you mistakenly expected me to do back when you were swallowing the COMPLETE EXONERATION!! spin.

Trump just vetoed a war powers resolution to end US assistance to Saudi Arabia in the war in Yemen. Votes were mostly on party lines, Democrats voting to end assistance, but there were enough Republicans realizing how fucked up the situation is there to do the right thing.
The bill passed the House 247-175. Sixteen Republicans voted yes with Democrats and one voted present. In the Senate the vote was 54 to 46, with seven Republicans voting with Democrats.
So with the veto, more US-made drones bombing Yemeni school busses at least for the time being. Its understandable given the Iraq war why people view US politics as a single-minded corporate/imperialist mass, but at the moment there are very real divisions that have serious consequences. One side is very clearly worse than the other.

Trump was a bigger neoliberal than Hilary, having cut taxes for the rich. It is not 'obvious' that Hilary causes more suffering than Trump does, in fact quite the opposite imo given his climate policies, which are far bigger than anything else. I't wouldn't suprise me if hilary had been in power she would've had a similar position on yemen given how hawkish her track record is. Assange's reasoning for supporting Trump is atrocious imo, but it doesn't stop the fact that he did a very moral good thing and he deserve's a medal for it.

I thought about the climate politics as well, and tbh I don't think Hilary would've changed shit either. Being a part of the Paris agreement doesn't mean shit either since it has no legal bounds to reach the goals in it. Hilary would've serviced the corporations as well, meaning not much would've been different climate-wise
Trump enabled full embargo for oil trading with Iran China and Turkey, and few others were exempt from it so far and wouldn't have gone under sanctions if they traded with Iran, thats no longer going to be so. I mean Turkey could probably still do it under the table undetected and China could still just tell Trump to fuck off, but honestly, the risk/reward ratio is just not going to be enough for anyone to continue trading with Iran
Pompeo is talking about "national security objectives" again, that piece of shit.
Sometimes I actually hope that I'm wrong and Catholics are right just so he gets wrecked post-life
Iran is saying they will block the Strat of Hormuz with their military and just force the USA into war. Actually, they might not even have another choice w/o their oil export they're kinda fucked. This embargo is like a modern-day siege
I hope the forum Muslim haters remember why there are extremists when the next wave of terrorist attacks come in the West after all of this happens
I also hope I get to see the time the USA loses its control of the oceans so that they won't be able to do whatever the fuck they want, even if its the stupidest thing ever
Pompeo is a motherfucker, and he is also smart enough to push Trump into war, making him think this would be his longshot to get the presidency for a 2nd term.
got that full video @ Loco? Interested in seeing it
Also lul if that surprises you, the only surprising thing is he's saying that live... which kind of makes sense as he pushes the public view to normalize such actions by a powerful organization... like "hey guys you already know we're doing this, lets make a joke out of it, maybe next time we manipulate you into a war where your children die and thousands of innocents are slaughtered you won't hate us kek !"
