Recessions are a natural thing of the credit cycle
People just get overly optimistic and amount of leverage and spending gets way higher than fundamental production
So a correction comes, in which people again focus too much on the short run and go too far the other way, credit dries up
When you lower taxes, don't curb spending and keep interest rates at low levels you just make the gap wider and fall harder

You wouldn't agree parts of this Stroggoz btw? Seemed pretty straightforward explanation of how the credit system works

The world is running on massive deficit trough artificially low interest rates, both private and government, and the bill will eventually have to be pay and crash the markets.
That said, the US economy is orders of magnitude more robust than most other world economies. Morever, the stock market ha gone up so much over the last 4 years that even something bordering a 20% drop would not be such a big deal.

The bill is actually quite low because interest rates are low. Public debt levels are not going to crash anything. Most economic crashes in Americas history were caused by irrationally high private debt that was growing at unsustainable rates.
The video seems accurate lemon, it is very simplified though. It doesn't actually teach why crashes happen. I think hyman minsky's financial instability hypothesis is the best model

I wouldn't say they are completely incompetent. They are very competent in basically hierarchy manipulation, negotiation, branding, control, public relations, manufacturing consent, all these things and more.

Thats true, except that does not lead to net value out in the real world. Society can only exist through delivering net value (thus creating rather than destroying)
