I still don't like Trump who is literally a trust fund kid whose greatest achievement was hosting a game show; eating adderalls all day, shitting his diapers in meetings. Maybe that is a good negotiations tactic: literally sitting in the most horrendous fast food dumps imaginable. If the goal is to take every action in service to one's ego, Trump did a helluva job. The problem is POTUS should be in service to the people. I'm not sure if that has ever happened. I did not vote in 2020 and I probably will not vote in 2024. The right is a nightmare and another 4 years of Biden or Kamala Harris is also a nightmare. There is no place to flee for a poor person like me. I don't necessarily like the attitude of have fun while the ship is sinking either. I mean that is what I end up doing. There is a chance that there is a spot on a lifeboat because my parents are rich but it is also likely that I end up frozen and dead in the water or just decide to play the music until the end.

CNN Just ran a headline comparing Joe Rogan's use of the N-word years ago to January 6, and also implied it leads to things like the genocide in Rwanda.

I went to see Dave Chappelle and Joe Rogan in Las Vegas last July. Joe Rogan did a bit about watching a video compilation of himself saying the N-word years ago on his podcasts and cringing at it. It's interesting that all of a sudden the mainstream media is acting like this video "surfaced" out of nowhere when the guy literally included it in his stand-up act. I'm not a huge a fan of Joe Rogan but I did start listening to him occasionally a couple years ago. Watching the smear campaign unfold against him in the mainstream media has been disturbing. I'm not even mad that the corporate media would try to destroy someone with a huge platform that is causing disruption. I kind of expect that. I am more annoyed by the legion of mostly left-leaning keyboard warrior morons that don't even listen to Joe Rogan that just believe he is some alt-right neo-nazi because CNN told them to believe that.



Good ol' alt-right Rogan supporting universal healthcare, universal basic income, voting for Bernie Sanders, etc. What a joke.

I hope some people can appreciate the irony of trying to label anyone with these "unacceptable views" as an alt-right terrorist, insurrectionist, racist, misogynist, or any other title meant to discredit and dehumanize them. Meanwhile they are telling us that people like Joe Rogan will lead to the next genocide for not falling in line.

I don't follow mainstream news much at all so don't know much about the anti-Joe Rogan narrative outside of Tim Dillon's views. It all seems pretty lame to me. I try to avoid it because it just pisses me off.

Canada just put through the Emergencies Act which I am not going to read into the whole thing but it bans crowdfunding, chooses which payment companies can do future business, and bans all cryptocurrencies. Trudeau had a quote recently about China that is bonkers too:

"There's a level of admiration I actually have for China. Their basic dictatorship is actually allowing them to turn their economy around on a dime."

I am glad I decided not to jet to Canada...

It feels kind of insulated where I am at in a good way but it still sucks to be working class in the USA.

He's picked up those views from his own culture, basically.

China's economic boom is actually because of an increase in democracy. It's a dictatorship, but a dictatorship that chooses its own policies is still more democratic than a dictatorship that has its policies chosen for them by a foreign power. China's leaders would not have chosen their policies if the country was under the control of say Britain, as it used to be. It would be like India, which had an economy growing at 0.1% per year under colonial control and 3% per year after independence.

Imo Canada has one of the most evil governments in the world atm. They are the worst rich country on climate change policy.
