It's become a crazy state over the last decade, and is an embarrassment to jews outside of israel. They have a word for it in jew culture, it's called "Meshuga".

what changed over the last decade?

It seems that they are trapped in a lose-lose situation, 45% of palestinians fully support Hamas, they've also rejected to form a free state multiple times because they want the full territory and the destruction of Israel. So if Israel lifted the blockade there would be about a million palestines hellbent in the destruction of Israel, they are not going to respect any peace treaty and with no blockade they would be quickly armed by Iran and Lebanon and they would attack Israel with near certanty and then we get a 3rd Arab-Israel war.

I morally agree with the "Free palestine" but it wont change anything, I don't see any solution besides a Ghand-like figure raising in Palestine, but most likely the only way this stops is a total war, displacement of millions and redrawn borders, In hindsight probably Israel should have pacted with Egypt to take palestines in exchange of the land they gave back.

I don't follow it that closely but Israel seems to be on the path to theocratic fascism and perhaps self destruction whenever i read a news story about whats going on there. That ofc is not unique in the world. Yeah pacifist movements have been suggested as a tactic by scholars like Norman Finkelstein. I have no idea what could work at this point.

I'm glad I live in USA when I see wars like this going on.

it's kinda funny that the progressive woke ideology pushed by jewish institutions has now backfired since now muslims are seen as more opressed than jews and you get all the universities and movie stars "betraying" them.
