I watched it live and expected Pavel to get called here.

Don't think its that insane. His call makes tons of sense.
Dude has a lot of balls open shoving the river though, considering how crushed his ranged is.

so his call makes a ton of sense even though his range crushes the other guy, and the other has to have balls to shove here.
Your logic seems contradictory to me.

How is it contradictory, I dont like the Q7s play at all, regardless - you have to have a lot of balls to do it (ignoring the good/bad play).
Isildur's call makes sense since opponent's range is pretty narrow there and he blocks the nuts

ok, just checking . I agree. the call-call-shove line is always super fishy as well when a rec does it.

Great call but not otherworldly. The analysis was spot on, river is polarized to flush/bluff and check/call twice with a low flush draw is pretty weird for an aggressive tourney player. The Q7 line seems bad not just since his range is narrow, but also because Isildur easily has a flush himself here and is just snapping a decent amount. That said, i suppose it’s possible the bluff might be +EV given that Isildur tanked with the blocker. If he folds his non-kh Kx and Ax it’s a good bluff.

Can't it both be a spot on analysis as well as an insane call?
Not sure why it has to be one or the other.
Either way I loved it.

no one commented on the turn bet. It seems very strange to bet turn here, a very non standard play.

I'd say it makes perfect sense, his range is still much stronger. He would take value off a decent amount of hands and has the easy check back on the river. If he checks back turn, villain could put him in a bad spot on the river. I'd prefer if he bets his hand but checks back stronger hands which could call a river bet.
Don't get me wrong, I'd probably never bet in his spot due to the spot being suuuuper thin (too far from poker atm to bother to calculate) but looking back at his decision it makes perfect sense

Yeah turn bet was so disrespectful, and its paired nicely with owning his opponent on river.
Anyway I feel like the best calls are just soul reads with near or complete air. If you're reasoning something out its a bit too normal for me to be blown away. But I don't want to diminish it, very entertaining call.
