- A welterweight bout between Kamaru Usman and Santiago Ponzinibbio was expected to serve as the event headliner. However, Ponzinibbio pulled out on April 21 due to injury. He was replaced by Demian Maia on April 26.
- Ray Borg and Brandon Moreno were scheduled again and was expected to take place at this event. However, Borg withdrew from the bout to take care of his child, who required brain surgery. He was replaced by Alexandre Pantoja on April 28.

There's around 1800-2000 feet of elevation in Santiago, Chile. Not a ton when compared to Mexico City @ 7k feet and Colorado @ 5-6k feet elevation, but Los Angeles is only 305 feet of elevation and Dallas is only 430 feet, for example.

This gives an additional edge to fighters like Cummings, Usman, Cannonier, Rivas, and Briones, as their opponents are known for slowing down.

i'm not sure shooting take downs every 2 seconds was the smartest strategy for maia. That outcome was kinda expected...

I really wanna see RDA or Woodley vs Usman now. Pretty sure this guy is gonna be the new champ ... I wonder if he really broke both his hands, but guess we ll never know

maia needs to retire...he is 40yo now and his last 3 fights played out the same.
