I don't share in meetings because I currently don't have a sponsor and I am not actively doing the steps.

I hang out with some old-timers I enjoy spending time with. I generally don't talk a lot unless it's 1 on 1. I don't think my friends would want to hang out with me if I was a retard that talked too much. I just dig at old-timers whose sole identity is wrapped up in AA or people that think they are gurus or people that brag about their houses, cars, boats in a meeting. I know you would instantly be attracted to the latter but it is rather pathetic. Even given the guys that are still fucked up or have inflated egos I will say that many of them still have wisdom and experience to share. At the end of the day as long as these people are not drinking and causing more harm I am ok with that.

I can't sleep yet and I am drawn back to this fucking website.

What I want to do is throw on NIN Ghosts (ambient, improv instrumental music) and write but I think instead what I will do is take my medications and watch Sonic Highways by Dave Grohl. To be honest, I don't even really dig the Foo Fighters all that much but it is a fascinating show. Chicago and Washington were amazing and The Black Keys are on the next one who are from my home city and I am also a fan.

The old guys were pretty cool with me and surprisingly didn't try to talk me out of taking meds or anything like that. Still, I don't think AA is for me. I have drank pretty heavy for the last 6 months, but I'm not sure if I qualify as an alcoholic.
