I guess last 2 posts are kind of humble brags that I am writing a novel but part of it is based in fear that I won't finish it! AHHHHHH!

It's weird I can listen to someone like Leadbelly and reallly get down with it even though he murdered a man.

Burzum just feels kind of like a heavy negative energy. Not just because it's Black Death Metal. I think I like Burzum from what I've heard but that dude is fucked up. Burning down churches and killing people. That dude needed music. Extreme.

Has anyone here listened to Leadbelly or Burzum? I bet Van Der Meyde has listened to Burzum.

I was listening to an interview last night with Rick Rubin interviewing Trent Reznor. It was from 7 months ago. I loved it but one thing became clear. I will never make music like Trent Reznor. He has played the piano since age 5 and got to concert pianist level good. He was also fascinated with synthesizers and drum machines. He wanted to be a professional musician / rock star since age 13 or so. I suppose I can make my own music on an Ableton Live 11 which would be my point of view. I can play some fun stuff on the guitar. Figured out how to play Link Wray - Rumble just this morning. But, I'm not composing any music and not even thinking about it. Well, I guess I just did think about it but I am not actively composing music. I was happy composing music albeit a bit frustrated at times. I am just obsessed with music. It's frustrating to not make it as well as others.

I'm leaving to the Philippines for 1 week in about 3 hours from now. See you guys when I return.

I'll pot a new blog when I get back.

I finally figured out my Boss OS-2 pedal. It only took over a year and a YouTube video. Finally, getting some cool tones out of it. I wanted to try and re-create some NIN guitars. Upon some research I find that that is virtually impossible. For The Downward Spiral there was a Gibson Les Paul and a Fender Stratocaster in the studio but the problem is he would record them into different devices and distort them through those means. So, unless you have all this antiquated stuff and happened to distort something similar is basically impossible.

Another interesting note is that on The Downward Spiral Tour NIN destroyed $160,000 worth of Gibson Les Paul Guitars. Damn shame man. I know it's fun to destroy shit and it's probably entertaining for the fans but the Gibson Les Paul is a work of art. If I was hammered and all coked up and one of the biggest fucking rockstars at the time I can't say I wouldn't be ecstatic to destroy some art too.

Anways, I have to figure out a way to learn from these masters and not compare myself to any artist ever.

I saw Tiesto and Armin Van Burren too. I was on a lot of drugs for both. I never thought I would be that guy. On a ton of drugs at an EDM show but that could be one of the pinnacles of life maybe? With enough nihilism and boredom it could be.

Creamfields in Buenos Aires is an amazing festival too. Maybe not up to bat with EDC and Tomorrowland but the spirit is there.
