I don't think I love my literal neighbors. They are kind of lame. I probably love a stranger from Gaza more. I remember I used to come home drunk and sing Pavarotti at 2am at this one apartment and no one complained. That is love for the wretched not love our neighbor. It is easier to love if you know nothing or everything.
Hey rikd, regular people tend to be sorta lame at first sight. Sometime they are truly lame. I just see them as animal (do their programming). I still try to respect them as long as they do the same.
You aren't lame tho!

Hey Oddeye,
You see them as animals (due to their programming)? That seems a bit harsh. Yeah, I respect them as long as they respect me. My literal neighbors have done nothing to earn dislike or disrespect. As humans they deserve Love. The last sentence is a Christ thing. "Love Thy Neighbor." It can be a justice thing too.
Well, thank you for the confidence that I am not lame! I feel like I am mostly lame now. I never leave my little bubble. I go out to lunch with friends, tea, bookstores stuff like that. That is the extent of my socializing. I wrote a novel that I sometimes miss writing like now when I can't sleep and there isn't much to do besides throw some Crystal Castles on and write.

I tend to love myself but I don't love the world I was thrown into.

Which is the age old debate: Is there something wrong with me or is there something wrong with this world?
I certainly have my faults but I was thrown into this world and conintinually thrown by determinism into this world. I would say society is wrong and I am right. And I don't know where me joining the Catholic Church fits into all of this but maybe it could mend some spiritual holes even if I am disobedient with a lot of it.

God created the universe or the universe created God to create the universe. At least the planet Earth is vastly beautiful for parts of its timeline which we are still currently in. Vastly beautiful.

The Earth is vastly beautiful and we are destroying it.

There is no copying The Universe. No human art really comes close.

Most art is a snap shot of terrestrial beauty. The ones that drift nearer to the universe are the truly profound.

We need a lostaccount run to make the blog scene better.
More or less, I don't see them as animals in a negative way. Just their progamming and behavior,I let animals do and be what they wish and don't harm them but if they fuck it with me... well I got a black dog that can take care of that.

I think this is quite different than Jesus's idea of Love Thy Neighbor. I don't necessarily think it's a bad viewpoint though.

An eye for an eye leaves the world blind. (probably many said that I don't know who exactly)
Turn the other cheek seems kind of pussy'ish but I think it is actually the right way.
The meek shall inherit the Earth. I remember there is a clip somewhere of Jordan B Peterson saying it meant samurai warriors were capable of taking over the Earth or something ridiculous like that.
"Become a monster and then control it..." I don't think that translates to the meek shall inherit the Earth. And, I love how Joe has to talk about martial arts at the end.
Who did Jesus ever fight? He washed the feet of his betrayers. He learned of his fate and went with his fate rather stoically which there is something to be said for that versus going kicking and screaming.

I don't know if there are any bad or good answers. Jordan B. Peterson seems way off though. I saw a quote from Rick Rubin that sometimes the opposite of good advice can also be true. I tend to believe that it is better to ask 2 or 3 people for their suggestions versus asking an entire room.

In regard to literal neighbors, I rather not speak to mine here in California. Not because I dislike any of them, but because I don't care to talk to them or know anything about them.
That being said, if I was in a western European country, I'd definitely want to talk to my neighbors and be a part of a community. Maybe it's what I've seen in movies, or maybe it's another reason.
I rarely talk to my neighbours too, just the hello how is it going short convo

4 out of 4 barely speak to neighbors and it doesn't sound like there is a sense of community. We are not rooted in anything. We are isolated and atomised.
