quit poker cause of bw

Don't get me wrong I don't think people will care, just felt like sharing anyway; i'm quitting poker


Lately i've basicly been tired of losing in poker to people who I think play less smart than me, and ever since i started playing bw i've been less and less interested in poker


it's amazing how bw is a game involving total randomness and yet after playing for only 2-3 months I can consistently beat players who are less smart in the long run

in poker it just seems like no matter how much strategy i've thought about and tested over the years, any random moron can come in, do the most retarded shit that I anticipate perfectly and he'll beat me regardless because I guess I'm just not very talented at the psychology and mathematics. Even if I can beat this kind of ridiculously dumb play 87.4% of the time, I will feel no joy when beating it (he is retarded and deserves to lose, after all) and feel aggrevation when I lose, because 12.6% is still way too much. When I just started I always strived to know as much about the game as possible because I was convinced that I'd be able to beat players who were faster with the chips and mouse and who play aggressive in this way, but after what is it.. 3 years I play now? I can safely say that the most retarded morons can still beat me by cluelessly gmabling and praying


there's also a lot of players who just knew more about the game and beat me because of that, I enjoyed those games but alas there are so few of them and they're almost always pot limit 7 card stud hi/lo players

all of my friends on pokerstars just suddenly seem to have stopped playing as well, that has to do with it too

i haven't cared nearly as much as I used to about the pro scene since Amarillo Slim got busted for being an incestuous paedophile

when I had played poker for 3 months I was playing .01/.02 no limit on pokerstars and losing, playing bw for 3 months (1 hour every 2 days maybe?) i'm winning respect, and even if it's not exactly much, you need ridiculous amounts of practice to make the respect in poker I do at bw

I also look at poker completely differently all of a sudden.. anybody else had that when they quit?

I went the other way recently, and I must say it was a good move by me. Mostly couse my eyes feels better, bw isn't good for ones eyes

if over 3 months you have not been able to beat the 0.01 you definatley gotta reconsider your options...
you can beat the 0.01 tables playing only TT-AA and AK.

looks like your taking the easy way out... poker is a serious mindjob at times, it really makes you question yourself .

bw is totally random?

some people put a coin in a slot machine and lose it, so they put another coin in trying to win it back, all of a sudden u lost 2 coins, 4, u managed to get 2 back but on the 3'd try u lose 1 again and keep losing at the end of the day the machine has cost you you're lunch money and the ride home.

gota say it takes alot of discipline to put in a coin and just quit when you've lost it.

i was watching a movie oh man it was friggen scary, it was based on a true story where this guy develops extreme gambling problem from losing 20$ to 100$ to 1000$ to 10,000, to 1 million to 9 million. he was a banker and he had to bascaly steal money after losing 5k,
bascaly he would not buy any clothes, expensive food, or even fix his car. he was making enough to buy a house . he would work like over 12 hours a day to fund his gambling habits.

whats sad is at one point he had a profit of like 5 million but becuase of the high stakes he was playing ended up losing every single 1$.

it was crazyyy it showed how the casino manager had asked the cook to prepair like huge amounts of dishes of food cuz they wanted service but they also did not want to deliver it to him cuz they wanted him to keep playing instead of pausing for eating food. so they kept the waitresses on stand by, and they only fed him every day after he was out of every single 1$ and they gave him food for free. it was just soo friggen sad.

it was an eye opener.

but ya going back to the orignal movie , at the end he was out of every single doller plus he was put in jail. he asked by a psychologist what was the max pleasure gambling gave him out of 100. he said 100, and he was then asked what was the max pleasure something outisde of gambling gave him like every day life, sex, drugs, etc. he said 20%. they say he was a certain breed.

oh i don't mean poker is pure gambling btw, but it is defined in the dictionary as gambling and it is very much like gambling if you're ever on tilt or play way above ur BR, you know what i mean.
