I enjoy playing live as well, it's just a hassle because every place is 1h drive which makes the trip just not worth it + all live games are full ring... which at time becomes extremley boring, esp when your J5o does not flop 2 pair. The games are soft as a baby's washed ass, but you'll have to put in a lot of hours each day because you will only be playing 30hands/h compared to online which you can easily do 500hands+ / hour

Mix the two and get a good variety.
Its easy to get really bored with live poker and you will probability fall into bad habits playing with medicore players all day. Online poker will keep you sharp. |

Live poker is not more boring than online because you can carry conversations with other players and/or the dealer, you should be watching for tells even in hands you are not involved in which will keep you busy, and if worst comes to worst theres usually TVs all over the place with some kind of game or something to watch. I have found that I can actually play longer sessions live than online because my mind is more stimulated by the added information and ability to have actual human contact.
Winrate is a serious question but the players live are consistantly worse at higher stakes than online so that mitigates the concern to some degree. If it is feasible for you to make this move I say go for it, but leaving some mess-around money online isnt a bad idea either. |
