i used to live in a 4th floor apartment and my neighbors cat used to casually jump off there for her own entertainment.
And i'm not sure if that matters in cats but he wasn't even an athletic cat, just a furry lump of cat fat!

cats have a high success rate if they fall less than 6 stories or more than 8 because of their terminal velocity(around 60mph) and how they spread their body while they fall so its no surprise that cat lived when it fell from ~2 stories
My neighbour's cat jumped from the 4th floor and damaged his spine. A few days later the neighbour took him to a vet and he put the cat to sleep, because it was in pain and wouldn't recover.
