you realize that all depends on where do you stop counting right? i mean do you count the water used to make the grass grow that the cow eats?, do you count the water that the guy who slaughered the cow drank? so its stupid to say 1,500 gallons withouth saying how that was determined.
Basically they are saying that a cow spends 1,000,000 gallons, which seems absurd, and they dont provide the measuring method, so i call BS till proven wrong. |

why the hell would you "stop counting"? it's all about how much water was required to have that pound of steak in your plate. so yes, obviously it counts the amount of water that was used on the crops to feed the cows and other industrial usages. it takes about 60 gallons of water to produce a pound of corn. Cows eat a lot of corn and it also takes water for them to be cleaned, for the meat to be processed, for them to drink etc. in the end it's not very hard to know how much was needed in one cow's life and divide it by it's weight to get to that number. |

while the excessive use of energy and water on the planet is a pretty big issue, it is the least of my worry, personally. i didn't post that graph, i just informed you on that particular subject because you made a post about it that was uninformed. |

its a big issue the exccesive use of water?, its the most abundant thing of the planet, plus only the 3rd world has issues with water, if anything we lack desalinization plants. |
