i can explain the sonic thing though

i played through sonic 3 with a girl a while back. we got to this spot after like 5 hours where there was a platform (the cillindrical thing - it doesnt have spikes on in the game). the platform bounces if you jump on it, and bounces harder and faster if you time your jumps at an even pace, and if you time the jumping of both characters (tails and sonic) together.

obviously you are supposed to bounce on this platform until it raises you above a certain point and you can continue down a passage.

we spent like 8 lives (and continues?) trying to bounce on this platform and running out of time or suiciding ourselves. (remember , the spikes in the joke image were not in the game and added for the joke). eventually we ran out of lives and got game over, after playing for like 5 hours straight. just because of this stupid impossible motherFUCKING little platform.


some time later i checked online (or asked someone) how to get past that bouncing platform. they said you need to press the D-pad UP and DOWN to make it bounce properly . you are NOT supposed to jump on it. using UP and DOWN without spinning is very unintuitive in a sonic game (i dunno if it does anything in sonic 3)

it suddenly occured to me that this was not the first time i had spent hours trying to figure out the platform, it had happened before when i was a kid.


so the joke picture is showing this platform that no one can ever figure out how to use, then putting spikes (death) on it to make it even more impossible

I think now is a proper time to end the ROFL thread forever, nothing can top Perisie's post
