Baal, you and Rosa Parks wouldn't get along. Luckily most people don't see the world as black and white as you and there is room for civil disobedience.
|
im an anarchist dumbass... so you might guess with that what is my stance on civil disobedience, however i dont see why these assholes are fucking with others freedom to protest.
Its hypocritical and immoral to take away others freedom to ask things to the government. |

btw baal unless you are anti-capitalist you ought to refer to yourself as an "anarcho-capitalist" for anarchism is the anti-authoritarian wing of the socialist movement. Being an anarchist implies being a socialist (socialist in the broadest philosophical sense, meaning being for common ownership of the means of production)

They do not "block the streets" in the sense that say Reclaim the Streets (or any demonstration for that matter) does. They merely ride their bikes in such numbers that cars, that have completely taken over our cities, are forced to give way, just like bicyclers normally have to make way for cars.

So what kind of civil disobedience would you be fine with? |

Why the hell should a car have to give way for a bicycle? Who do you think roads were built for? Bicyclists can ride on the fucking sidewalk. Even if I rode a bike I'd feel pretty stupid risking my life riding with vehicles like it's all the same. |

Cars should give way for bicycles because bicycles are much more sensible way for moving around than cars and conditions for cycling should be improved.
Bicyclists cannot walk on the sidewalks because it is very dangerous and in most countries I know of illegal for a good reason. People tend to randomly step sidewards while walking, and cyclists are moving up to 30 mp/h, so putting walkers and cyclists to use same narrow pathways is pretty horrible idea.
Roads were built for people who want to move around imo. (albeit you are right that many cities have actually been built on the assumption that everyone drives everywhere. That was a good idea for a very short while in 1950's)

I dont mind people biking, but if you're gonna do it it better be in a city designed for it, i.e. bike lanes. Otherwise there is no reason to share a highway which was built exclusively for cars and not just "travel". Can I skate board down the middle of the road? Rollerblade? Street luge? Segway? Walk? Fuck no. Just because a bunch of idiots said "fuck my life" and threw caution to the wind so they could ride a bike blindly in front of cars going 50mph does not mean we all have to adapt. Either move to a bike friendly city or travel like everyone else. |

I sense some resentment. I think somebody never learned how to ride a bike?

You pointed out the big problem not the solution. Lots of cities are so badly designed especially in America where everything is designed for cars. Why would car owner would have more rights than others ?
And it is so nice to go biking in a big city. Try do this in a nice city.
On topic :
In this situation, what do I have to do ?
a - overtake the bike
b - stay behind quietly
