this. exposing religion as one of the world's great flaws isn't selfish in any way. peoples lives would be much better if they would stop living in fear of a God who does not exist and stop giving their money away to scam preachers and priests.

Theology is irrelevant when discussing anything but theology itself, it's such a useless field for any
outside discussion that one might draw the conclusion that it was built to be that way.

Of course that would have had no benefit to a specific hierarchy in the middle ages.

Furthermore, theology is the most useless of philosophy, its part in metaphysics is dependent entirely on
the assumption that there may be a god or gods or that there may be a metaphysical arche.
