I'm final tabling the $162 Nightly [$100k guaranteed] as im posting this

im coming in a little bit short, 8/9 cause I lost a huge $270k pot. I still got 17BBs.

1st place yO!, ship it!!!!!!!!! We made a 5-way deal. Chip count chop and leaving $5K aside. So we played for an extra cash. $3500 extra for 1st and $1500 for 2nd.

So I got $15,300 from the chop and $3500 for the win for an awesome amount of $18,800 Sick! :D

EDIT 2: Something happened but I think stars messed up the deal, cause I received $19,800 instead of $18,800 :D:D

the main problem w/ chipchop is it assumes everyone is of equal skill, so if you are the best player at the table its -ev.

But obv factoring in bankrolls, what the money means to you, structure of tournament etc...

Leaving something to play for is always a decent idea over straight chopping though if you think you are the better player, but want to make sure you lockup some cash - but the more money left to play for, the more scared/passive the nittier players will play. Once you take most of the money out they will already have 'won' a decent amount, and not care so much about the $5k left to play for and prob gamble it up.
