Alright, I've been pretty patient with all of the problems D3 has had so far, but this is getting pretty crazy as far as frequent service interruptions, awful UI design and functionality in the auction house, bland and generic itemization, absurd and awfully tuned inferno difficulty mode, the recycling of Act 3 and 4's town, the small and extremely linear game world relative to the amount of grinding they built into their game, the fucking assholes couldn't even think of a new theme or perspective on the themes of act 1, 2, or 4, all of which are recycled from Diablo 2.
At least when you play slots at the casino you get free drinks and there are more than four different slot machines.
Activision has destroyed blizzard's soul, pure business people run the show now and they've torn out and devoured the heart of gaming like they do with any other product. |
not if you play slots in canada |

The goal is to make sure you're too busy grinding/farming to realize how much the game sucks.
Thank god for refunds. |

Extending my rant a little..
I'm wondering if anyone else feels like this game directly praises the player more than is really appropriate..? It feels wrong to me and from my perspective, the aim of all of the praise has nothing to do with story or atmosphere and everything with giving the player another regular little dopamine shot. It feels more than wrong, it feels disgusting on the part of the company who's decision it was to put it into the game. Am I alone in noticing this or have I just not been playing many videogames lately..?
Same thing with the pop-ups "massacre!" and such that you can't disable, though this is a more forgivable way of exploiting the human brain's reward systems in a game imo.. just wish I could turn that shit off. |
I thought the same. I cannot think of another game that exploits the brain's reward systems as much as Diablo, and they have found a way to make it even more addicting now, and less rewarding for you if you decide to leave/take long breaks with the Nephalem Valor system. |

Starting at level 60, no matter the difficulty, you'll get a Nephalem Valor stack every time you kill a champion pack.
Each stack gives 15% MF/GF, up to 5 stacks. |

It is pretty simple. Basically, each time you kill an elite or unique monster pack you get a buff of 15% magic find and gold which which lasts for 30 minutes. It stacks up to 5 and is refreshed everytime you kill a monster.
I think we'll one day see the videogame industry getting regulated due to game's addictive properties and the fact that the mainstream industry has gone more and more towards designing games from the ground-up based on addictive features, and wrapping the gameplay and story around said features. At least, that is how it appears from the little I've picked up over the years through reading and my own experience in gaming. |

that is a terrible idea video games should not be regulated. people should be responsible for themselves and the government should not be involved just because some people are prone to addiction to games. |

I think that's supposed to be the point, since Hell comes after Nightmare, and before Inferno. Maybe you meant to say it the other way around idk. |
