How can you use the argument "Guns DONT kill people.People kill people"? That's like the most ridiculous argument pro guns, hmmm "planes don't fly people, people fly people." WTF!?!? Try flying withouth that plane and don't say something lame like omg hang glide obv!!!!

stationary guns just laying around aren't going to shoot anybody. a person using the gun to shoot someone will shoot someone.
a plane just sitting there isn't going to fly anywhere. a person uses the plane to go somewhere, and they can take people places.
so yeah, people use planes to fly people around, idiot.

- The point was that the person can't shoot without the gun, sure a person is pulling the trigger and is therefor responsible for his/her own action. But you still need a gun to shoot someone.

Yes, a person using the gun to shoot someone will shoot someone, that's what I'm saying and THAT IS BAD. And as far as protecting yourself with guns, how likely are you not to make the whole situation worse? I see it like this; Either you'll get hurt or the person you want to get hurt will. Having guns around just makes every threatening situation that more threatening, it creates a circle of fear > he has a gun, i need a gun! > oh shit! he has a gun, luckily I have a gun. > wild west.

I just have a personal question: Would you rather shoot a person trying to burglar your apartment/house maybe killing the man in the process and also risking your own life or have him steal your stuff? This is a hypothetical question and I want you to answer it with one of the alternatives given, you may if you want also tell me exactly what you'd do if you noticed someone was burglaring you home.

1) it's not the wild west. This isn't a movie. if everyone had a gun, no one would have an edge in power, and no one would try and do anything. Think of it like poker... 9 people get seated at a new table, and it's cash game and the other 8 people bought in for $1,000. If you buy in for less, you don't have any power, you are much less likely to control the action, and you will be pushed around. Who is most likely to go busto first one of you 8 people who bought in for the max at 1,000 or you who bought in for the min at 500?? It's more fair if everyone is on the same playing field.

2) If someone breaks into my apartment (i'm moving into it tomorrow!!!) and they are robbing me of everything i worked hard to get, and they are in my house posing a threat to my life, if i know 100% they do NOT have a gun, i will shoot them in the leg. If there is any suspicion that they could have a gun and my life is in danger, i will shoot until they are either 100% disarmed and pose no threat to my life or they are dead. I've already made the decision, i hope i never have to do it, but i am mentally prepared for the consequences. Again, i hope i never have to shoot anybody, but i will when it's between them and me.
