AlotofAction is pretty aggro regular we have a ton of spewy aggro history vs each other, teddy has been pretty solid (he is a competent 10/20 player so I dun know why he's playing these games)

You are up against a big draw and a straight or flopped set, i think this is a fold, it would be really crazy for Alotofaction to come over the top of teddywong unless he has a super monster here, nothing less than the OESFD or rarely the nut flush draw.

Pretty poor table selection. I think at best you're breaking even at this table. Most likely losing w/ rake being thrown into the mix. (I'm assuming that dikk/pe-t are less than average regulars but still the standard 2/4 player.)

Flop - go for it if everyone is in the mood for splashing and pushing each other around. Fold (I'd probably still call b/c I never fold sets on flops, ever) if everyone is folding around and not penis waiving.

Now I really am a busto. Thanks FTP.Last edit: 29/10/2008 17:17

A few points:

1. 2/4 has a lot of bad players, it also has a lot of genuinely good players. There is a huge reason to table select.

2. I think the hand is fairly simple if you were paying attention to the game dynamics and flow. Wong and action had some sort of read and feel for the table(tuirns out they were wrong). They got it in versus each-other light - they felt everyone was pushing light.

3. I think the strongest skill a poker player can have is understanding his place on the food chain. Objectively I view you as the 5th best player on the table. Rake, action, wong, human, rank higher. I don't think the edge you have over the other two is enough to warrant a stay at the table unless you're trying to get better and following game flow/dynamic. Not a knock at your skill, you're within the best 300 players to play at pokerstars and I respected the fact that you played more live games than pokerstars while i was sitting down with players waiving my penis. You shouldn't play versus the top 299, you should play versus the other 149,700 players online.

Now I really am a busto. Thanks FTP.

SakiSaki    Sweden. Oct 30 2008 11:00. Posts 9687

I agree with maynard. There are tons and tons of 2/4 tables running at stars. When you have the opportunity to find really juicy games where you have a crazy edge why the fuck wouldnt you?

Poker is all about maximizing ev and maximizing your hourly rate, if you feel you have an edge on all the regs so what? You will always have a bigger edge on the fish so if you infact are gods gift to poker then play the fish and you will be able to move up faster and crush 5/10 in notime.

Dunno how ipoker 2/4 compares to 2/4 anywhere else but I don't see why you wouldn't want to table select when there are usually like 30 tables running, and some of them are just 5 nits doing nothing..

Seems stupid not to table select -_-

I just played stars 2/4 without table selecting

I had a bunch of these regs on my tables and most of them are the sickest nits (easy to play against). Up 7,5 buyins in 1.2k hands and I didn't run good or anything.

The regs at stars are worse than at ipoker and there are more fish. iPoker is definitely not softer than stars.

congratulations at crushing so hard!!

locoo   Peru. Nov 02 2008 05:10. Posts 4564

of course table selection is good always, whenever i play 2/4 i just mass table and the tables seems to always have: 2 tight regulars (1 a good 6table player and 1 nit 16 tabler) 1 or 2 very spewy regulars and 1 or 2 real (unreal) fish. So i dont do it and still find the games very soft, but yea def profitable to table select i guess.
