2000BB Pot + Craziest Session Ever |

So I'm not so good with telling stories but I just played the craziest session of my poker career.
Overall I spent roughly 23 hours playing with only a 2 hour break in between 2 sessions.
The story is a bit long so Cliff Notes: Long swongy session where I'm stuck huge, get bad beat to get stuck huge again, then play a 2000BB pot for the mother fucking win.
Sunday Morning I wake up at 1 and immediately start grinding after making myself some cereal + play the Sunday tourneys. Those don't go well at all, I lose all of them and barely cash in the Second Chance, and also lose some FTP tourneys as well. I lose in my Poker session and just call it a negative day.
However, hours ago I had waitlisted myself onto a table with the biggest known donator fish at FTP's Mid Stakes, http://www.pokertableratings.com/overview/yl08dw
I got into a table and immediately started off losing. The guy is known for playing 1 table only, but monstrous sessions. So I load up more 6max tables and immediately start grinding again. Things just get even UGLIER and I declare war on the koreans at FTP for doing shit like raise/calling a 4bet jam with K9s and hitting vs my AQ etc. etc. I get into a massive variance war vs a bunch of preflop aggro koreans and end up on the losing side, and suddenly I'm down 18 god damn buy ins. What a shitty start to February.
So I close the 6max tables besides the one with the huge fish, and start focusing on that. Note that this is around Midnight. I also end up playing some hu tables as well, all in an effort to get myself unstuck.
For the next 16 hours I would play mostly just the table with the huge fish though, which is why for such a long marathon session I didn't get in many hands as the hands past the 5k mark are mostly 1 tabling. The fish was REALLY difficult to win against, it seemed like he was making a pair every single hand or a legitimate draw and I kept missing flops. This would be a reoccurring theme over 1300 hands it was VERY VERY peculiar. But anyway, it's kinda funny what you can learn about someone's game over the course of playing with them for 16 hours Then, a big hand goes down:

This hand absolutely frustrates me to no end, literally got it in as a 95% favorite, 450bbs deep and getting owned. I felt like absolute SHIT at this point because I was back down to being -3k but the difference is I just pulled an all night and it was now near Noon time and I'm back to square -5, and only 100bbs deep against the huge fish I just spent 12 hrs building a stack against.
It was a good thing I somehow managed to control my tilt, because I just kinda told myself that I won't be leaving the table til he leaves or I stack his ass. Three hours later this goes down, and will be my biggest pot in my career probably for a while

Yep, 2000bb+ pot and I got to ship it vs the huge fish . Now I'm up on the month instead of being down a gigantic amount (18 bi), although I haven't slept in really 28 hours so I'm feeling kinda tired now, but still definitely happy about how things came about . A peculiar, yet good start to February I guess.

How did you spend 12 hours building a 850 stack and then it only takes 3 to make 2100? |

Stacks kept fluctuating, prior to that 83 hand I had about 2k when villain was sitting on roughly 3k. Money just traded hands like crazy (avg pot size was like over half a buy in). Started running good towards the end though, the poker gods heard my cries |

shit i saw this game going on, i insta-added myself to playlist.. were like 40 or something when i joined waiting-list.. later i see there's a 90ppl waiting list (i was 3rd) and that you were sitting there against the big fish... didnt see myself getting any closer on that list so i just quit my session.. also saw the 82 vs 83 suckout and him having a 5k stack, mustve been really epic for you to come back from that
nice that you finally got him, must feel great :D |
